How We Work

We bring straps, sliders, blankets, dollies and corner protectors so that nothing gets damaged in transit. Tight stairwells, sharp doorways and low ceilings are everyday challenges and we know how to handle them. Where a piece simply will not go through a doorway, we can sometimes dismantle and reassemble — or move it through a window with the right access equipment.

Floors are protected with felt sliders or runners, walls and door frames are shielded with foam corner protectors, and we wear shoe covers when needed.

Heavy Items

Some items are particularly heavy or fragile. Pianos in particular need proper technique — uprights especially, as they are top-heavy and can easily tip. Solid wood dressers, marble-topped tables, heavy beds and large wardrobes all need two people who know what they are doing. We have moved hundreds of these items without incident.

Glass-topped tables, large mirrors and fragile antiques are wrapped in blankets and moved carefully. We are insured so in the rare event something does get damaged, you are covered.

Disposal

Often the reason for a furniture move is to make room for new pieces — and the old ones need to go somewhere. We can take them to the local recycling centre as part of the same visit, donate to local charities where the items are in good condition, or hold them for a council bulky waste collection.

We are licensed waste carriers so your items will be disposed of properly rather than ending up dumped.
